Theme: PRAY AND WAIT ON THE LORD
Text: “Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.” – Psalm 37:34.
Comment: The reward of our faithful service to God is everlasting life in His kingdom with all the blessings that accompany salvation. “And this is the promise that he hath promised us, even eternal life.” (1 John 2:25) While the wicked will be destroyed by God, it is important for us to be patient while maintaining and/or increasing on our good works so as to be blessed with eternal life in His Kingdom when fully established. Saint Paul exhorts: “And let ours also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful.” (Titus 3:14) He further admonished us: “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” – 1 Corinthians 15:58.
