Theme: THE BLESSING IN DOING WHAT WE HEAR
Text: “And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying, Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” – Luke 10:25.
Comment: This pertinent question asked Jesus Christ by a lawyer indicates that there are things to be done in order to inherit eternal life. The singular fact that Jesus Christ, in answer to the question, referred the lawyer to the commandments of God in the Bible shows that the laws of God must be carried out in order for one to inherit eternal life. “And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.” (Luke 10:26-28; Luke 18:18,20,28-30). Jesus Christ stated categorically that it is the doing of his Father’s will that will make one enter the Kingdom of God. – Matthew 7:21.
