Text: “For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water…know therefore and see that it is an evil thing and bitter, that thou hast forsaken the LORD thy God, and that my fear is not in thee, saith the Lord GOD of hosts.” – Jeremiah 2:13, 19.
Comment: It is foolhardy for anyone to have the God of Jacob for his help, and still owe allegiance to “alternatives” or “plan B” in the event that God Almighty does not come to his rescue, forgetting that the Lion of the Tribe of Judah, Jesus Christ, has been given the prerogative to open, “and no man shutteth, and shutteth, and no man openeth.” (Revelation 3:7) God Almighty had asked: “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there anything too hard for me?” The Angel Gabriel was quite unequivocal I asserting: “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” (Jeremiah 32:27; Luke 1:37) It therefore amounts to faithlessness, for any worshipper of God to forsake the living God during the hour of temptation, or at any time, whatsoever. – Hebrews 10:35, 39; Revelation 3:10.
