Theme: Guiding Against Despair
Text: “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into diverse temptations.” – James 1:2.
Comment: Worshippers of God should endeavour to follow this admonition of Saint James as a demonstration of their faith and trust in God Almighty. Learning to rejoice even in tribulations drives away depression, frustration and despair. Apostle Paul was also a great advocate of rejoicing in tribulations. He declared: “Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.” (2 Corinthians 12: 10) And in Acts 14:22, it is written “Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God”.
