Text: “A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.” – Proverbs 12:23.
Comment: In the verse under reference, King Solomon says that a prudent person is careful about releasing information of what they know. But a man who is not prudent reveals information that ought to be managed or kept secret. Christ warned: “Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: Be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.” (Matthew 10:16). We should be wise and very careful in all we say and do. The verse under review says that “fools proclaimeth foolishness” whereas a prudent person is reserved in utterances. As children of God, let us be mindful of our actions and utterances so as not to regret in the future. An ill-advised statement or action could lead to a lifetime of regrets. But above all, we should be prudent in our words and actions in order to please JEHOVAH our God. – Proverbs 15:4; Matthew 12:36,37.
