Theme: FORGIVENESS

Text: “And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.” – Matthew 6: 12.

Comment: If we pray to God with grievance in our hearts, we count ourselves unworthy of our petition: Christ said, “And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have aught against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.” (Mark 11: 25, 26; Mathew 6: 14, 15) It is therefore in our spiritual health to forgive offenders, even without apology; so that God Almighty may forgive us and show mercy on the offenders when they ask. (2 Corinthians 2:10) The Scripture says: “So speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.” – James 2:12, 13.
