Theme: WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A CHRISTIAN
Text: “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” – 2 Corinthians 5:17.
Comment: Being a Christian, involves living a godly life in Christ Jesus by refraining from a life of sin. “Abstain from all appearance of evil.” (1 Thessalonians 5:22) The “old things” that are passed away are the works of the flesh as enumerated by Apostle Paul in Galatians 5:19-21 and 1 Corinthians 6:9, 10. He added: “But ye have not so learned Christ; If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.” – Ephesians 4:22-24.
