Theme: CULTIVATING FRUITFUL RELATIONSHIP WITH ONE ANOTHER
Text: “Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.” – Matthew 7:12.
Comment: This famous quote of Jesus Christ is also referred to as the “Golden Rule”. Application of this profound human relations principle can help us treat one another with respect, kindness and courtesy. God Almighty expects us to be merciful if we want to receive same from him. “Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.” (Matthew 5:7) The Biblical principle of love will enable us practice to the fullest the “Golden Rule”. Apostle Paul exhorts: “Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.” – Romans 13:8-10. See also Matthew 6: 14,15; Luke 6:38.
