Theme: THE PENNY REWARD
Text: “And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.” – Acts 16:14.
Comment: The leading text for today shows how God calls His people into His way of life. It stresses the impact of the Spirit of God, which He uses to make His people understand His will and do them. The Almighty God by His Spirit opens the heart of His children who have been called into His fold to enable them do His will so as to obtain their reward by His grace. (Luke 24:45) Addressing the Jews, God said: “A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.” – Ezekiel 36:26, 27.
