Theme: GIVE DILIGENCE TO MAKE YOUR CALLING AND ELECTION SURE
Text: “Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel: Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.” – Jeremiah 10:1, 2.
Comment: A real and present danger which poses obstacles against worshippers of God attaining salvation is succumbing to the allure of worldly pleasures, trends and heathenish practices. With the advent and spread of social media and the subsequent rise of social media influencers, a lot of ungodly practices and materials are now in the public space. Many of these ungodly materials and trends are hyped as a thing of class, modernity, and prestige. Today, the world hypes star-gazing, zodiac signs, birthday celebrations, Satan’s worship (Halloween) disguised as holiday celebration, crossdressings and dressers, transgenders, homosexuality, etc. Those called to salvation must therefore be on guard always to be able to discern, abhor and stay away from these abominable practices that have become prevalent in the society, just as Lot was righteous in the midst of an ungodly generation. – 2 Peter 2:8.
