Comment: In the text above, Apostle Paul revealed how some people would fall away from the true Church of God; the callousness of false prophets for their shameless acts of hypocrisy and unconscionable lies, pretending to be who they are not, and regrettably drawing a large following to themselves. Apostle Peter says, “many shall follow their pernicious ways”. (2 Peter 2:2)  Earlier, Christ had warned: “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.” (Matthew 7:15) False prophets are hypocrites, they know God did not send them; yet they go about preaching lies. The Almighty God denouncing them said: “I sent them not…” (Jeremiah 14:14; Matthew 7:22, 23) True worshippers of God should be spiritually vigilant so as not to be lured into the hypocrisy of false prophets. – 1 Thessalonians 5:21; Ephesians 4:14, 15.
