That Jehovah, the Almighty God alone ordains His witnesses – His servants whom He has chosen (Isaiah 43:10-12) – there is abundance of scriptural evidence. To be appointed to such an office like that of a high priest, is a great honour. But St. Paul declared:  “And no man taketh this honour unto himself, but he that is called of God, as was Aaron.”  – Hebrews 5:4
           
In a booklet entitle Theocracypublished in 1941, the Watchtower Society stated: “…It is the prerogative solely of Jehovah God to select and organize his own witnesses and no man has any authority whatsoever to select or organize them… They are made up of persons who are entirely devoted to Jehovah God and his kingdom and who are diligent and faithful in carrying out His orders as commanded by the Most High. They are selected or chosen by Almighty Jehovah God. No man could select them.” Pages 18 & 19, Emphasis ours) They continue: “From the days of the apostles forward Jehovah continued to select His witnesses to bear testimony to His name and His kingdom in the earth… and concerning such it is written: “But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.” (1 Corinthians 12:18) This is conclusive proof that Jehovah’s witnesses are those, and those only, whom God selects, and whom no man can select.”(Page 22) Emphasis ours
           
Contrary to this conclusive assertion, “that Jehovah’s witnesses are those, and those only, who God selects, and whom no man can select,” the officials of the Watchtower Society have been ordaining their own “Jehovah’s witnesses”. Their book Let God Be True,has this to say; “Each one of Jehovah’s witnesses is a minister of the gospel… Jehovah’s witnesses are a society of ministers.
           
“While Jehovah’s witnesses of today do not attend any theological seminary or religious universities in preparing for their ministry, neither did Christ Jesus nor his apostles nor any others of Jehovah’s witnesses who performed their God-given ministry even in the many centuries before Christ Jesus’ days on earth. Today, however, they do receive an adequate and regular course of instruction and training before their ordination or ministers of Jehovah God and Christ Jesus. – Page 216
           
If Jesus Christ, his apostles and order Jehovah’s witnesses before Christ did not attend any formal course of training, why should it be different with those of today? From whom do the “Jehovah’s witnesses” of today “receive an adequate and regular course of instruction and training before their ordination”? Their answer is, “Each congregation or company of Jehovah’s witnesses maintains regular classes for instruction of ministers…” (Pages 216 & 217) And so, it is neither God Almighty nor Jesus Christ but “Jehovah’s witnesses” that train and ordain “Jehovah’s witnesses” of the Watchtower Society.
           
They stated further: “Each such minister sent forth is ordained or authorized primarily by Jehovah God. (Isaiah 61:1, 2) Christ Jesus was ordained in like manner simultaneously with his baptism in the Jordan River. (Luke 4:17-19) However, the corporate legal servant body of Jehovah’s witnesses issues to each minister credentials. Such show that he is duly authorized to preach and that he has been regularly ordained in accordance with the regulations of the organisation, based on the Bible.” – Page 218
           
The system of their ordination is inconsistent with the scriptures to which they referred. Isaiah said: “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;” (Isa. 61:1, 2) This precisely fulfilled in Jesus Christ according to Luke 4:17- 21. Whereas the ordination of Jesus Christ, the prophets and the apostles was by anointing of the Lord, that of the Watchtower Society is by issuing of credential or certificates by a “corporate legal servant body”.
           

The truth that has become plain is that while people ordained by Jehovah through Jesus Christ are Jehovah’s witnesses, those ordained by the Watchtower Society can only but be Watchtower’s witnesses.
