Theme: GIVE DILIGENCE TO MAKE YOUR CALLING AND ELECTION SURE

Text: “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?” – Romans 6:1, 2.

Comment: There are some people today who believe that the end justifies the means. And so, they go to any length to achieve their inordinate ambitions not minding those who will bear the brunt of their actions. This is very wrong. The grace of one’s calling into the way of truth requires that children of God should desist from anything that pertains to evil. (1 Thessalonians 5:22) This is because, having been called into the knowledge of the truth, worshippers of God are not expected to be slaves to sin anymore. (Romans 6:16) Rather, as St. Paul further explained: “But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.” – Romans 6:22.
