Theme: ONLY IN JESUS CHRIST WILL MANKIND FIND REST
Text: “For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.” – Hebrews 4:15.
Comment: But for God’s mercies, for which reason we are not consumed, left for the devourer, the devil, none would be alive. Surviving one day on to another, the hazards of everyday living, indeed, men’s heart are “failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth…” (Luke 21:26; Psalm 55:4-8) On the part of Job and Jeremiah, both prophets of God, they wished they had not been born, but had died in the womb instead. (Job 3:11-13; Jeremiah 20:17, 18) It is evident therefore that misfortune could also befall a worshipper of God. (2 Timothy 3:12; Acts 14:22) Thankfully, the Shepherd and Bishop of our souls, Christ Jesus, promises us comfort, having had a fair share of no small afflictions, while he was on earth. – Hebrews 4:16; 1 Peter 2:21-25.
