Theme: IT IS A GOOD THING TO GIVE THANKS UNTO THE LORD

Text: “For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” – 1 Corinthians 15:9, 10

Comment: Like Levi who was reported to have thrown a feast at the instance of his call into the ministry of Christ, (Luke 5:27-29) in the case of Saul, who also became an apostle of Christ, with the name, Paul, he expressed appreciation to God for His grace on him. He added: “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry”. (1 Timothy 1:12) Paul the Apostle justified the grace of God he received and admonished us thus: “We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.” (2 Corinthians 6:1) Therefore, having received the grace of God, let us show gratitude to God by abstaining from all appearance of evil so as to continue to enjoy His grace. – 1 Thessalonians 5:22; Romans 6:1, 2; Titus 2:11-14.
