Theme: LORD, TO WHOM SHALL WE GO?

INTRODUCTION

All through the pages of the Holy writ, and in all accredited records of God’s dealings with His people, He has never left His people without a confirmation of His almightiness. Through miraculous interventions, God Almighty has always, and will continue to “shew Himself strong in the behalf of them whose heart is perfect toward Him”. (2 Chronicles 16:9) By way of reciprocation, all who have tasted of God’s goodness are duty bound to pitch their tent with Him, by remaining in His way of truth, to enjoy more of His assured providence, protection, deliverance, and ultimately, salvation in the end, by His grace.

Text: “Fill their faces with shame; that they may seek thy name, O LORD, That men may know that thou, whose name alone is JEHOVAH, art the most high over all the earth.” – Psalm 83:16, 18.

Comment: In exercise of His infinite power, the God of unequalled wonders, establishes his supremacy and vindicates His Holy name. (Jeremiah 10:6, 7, 10) Reflecting on God’s wonderful acts – the timing, nature, and overwhelming magnitude – instils awe in His people, propelling in them an increased passion for His worship. It could be recalled that after the victory God gave Elijah the Tishbite during the famous contest at Mount Carmel, “…And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The LORD, he is the God; the LORD, he is the God.” (1 Kings 18:17-39) In His faithfulness, none who has identified himself with the true worship of God, would be put to shame. – Psalm 9:9, 10.
