Text: “Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!” – Isaiah 31:1.
Comment: In context, “Egypt” in Bible symbolism is in reference to the ungodly or those who are opposed to true worship. Since there is no part between him that believeth with an infidel, Isaiah the prophet asked: “Should not a people seek unto their God? For the living to the dead?” (2 Corinthians 6:15, Isaiah 8:19) Christian converts should not allow the difficulties they are faced with, make them quake “as though some strange thing happened unto you”. (1 Peter 4:12, 13) If we have the understanding that the God Whom we serve is greater than our troubles, then Him only should we serve. (Daniel 6:20-22) Justifying why we should stick to the worship of the Almighty Father, David the king charged Solomon, thus “…. If thou seek him, he will be found of thee, but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.” – 1 Chronicles 28:9.
