Theme: THE VICE OF WRATH
Text: “Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil.” – Ephesians 4:26, 27.
Comment: No mature human being can deny knowing what anger is; whether as a fleeting annoyance or as full-fledged rage. Anger is a completely normal, usually healthy, human emotion. But, as the leading texts exhorts, when it gets out of control and turns destructive, it can lead to problems at work, home, places of learning, neighbourhood, in our personal relationships, and in the overall quality of our spiritual life. As true Christians aspiring for holiness, we must strive to keep our anger in check so as not to offend God or our fellow man. (Colossians 3:5-8) We should not give room for Gentiles to mock the faith and above all, we should not present ourselves as ready tools for the devil because of our anger. Scripture says: “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” – James 4:7.
