Theme: ANXIETY

Text: “And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth…” Luke 21:34-36

Comment: The day that would come upon people unawares, as stated in the Bible reference for today, is the Day of Decision, when God Almighty will put an end to Satan the devil and his followers so that a righteous new theocratic order will hold sway all over the earth.

In a world threatened every second by the danger of nuclear war, cancers, suicide bombers, hostage taking and so on, is it surprising that many people today are asking where we are going from here? Because of the state of affairs in this age, people are so disenchanted with their leaders that they are asking them to leave. The sea and the waves are really roaring. – Luke 21:25, 26.

To watch in this context, means to study the Holy Bible diligently so as to understand the signs of the times and to conduct ourselves in a godly manner in the light of the Scriptures. They should identify the Lord’s established Kingdom, so as to flee into it for protection and salvation. – Acts 17:10-12; Isaiah 2:2, 3.

Those who do not watch and pray are sleeping spiritually and this could give room for worries and anxieties to overtake them and lead to depression spiritually and physically.  “And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.” – Romans 13:11.
