Theme: FLEE YOUTHFUL LUSTS

Text: “Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” – 2 Timothy 2:22.

Comment: Lust is a strong ungodly emotional pull that is meant to drag a person into the pit of destruction. The word ‘flee’ means to escape or avoid. The world today is filled with all sorts of profane and vain activities and uncontrolled emotions contrary to the will of God. The youths are mostly caught in the web of lust because of the adventurous nature of their age grade. As Christians, St. Paul in the text for today urges us to flee from all appearances of evil, or simply put, youthful lusts in order to gain God’s blessings and protection. (1 Thessalonians 5:21-23) May God continue to help us with His spirit always so that we can avoid sin at all cost by His grace. Amen.
