Text: “But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?” – James 2:20

Comment: The belief in God Almighty and Jesus Christ is not enough for salvation. Such belief must be backed up by the doing of good works or works of righteousness as a demonstration of one’s faith. Scriptures says: “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6) As worshippers of God in time of old did good works in the service of God in demonstration of their faith for which they were blessed and have been approved for salvation (James 2:21-26), we should likewise demonstrate our faith in God by doing His will. St. Paul stated that those who have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. – Titus 3:8, 14.
