Comment: Thanksgiving to God can be demonstrated in many ways. The text for today is on singing in praise of God. However, the best form of appreciation to God is by doing the truth and righteousness of God. (See Isaiah 43:7, 21) Any form of gratitude to God without the practice of righteousness is not acceptable in the sight of God. Micah, the prophet declared: “He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?” (Micah 6:8) King David emphasized the need for us to walk in the truth and righteousness of God in appreciation of His goodness when he said: “What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me? I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people.” – Psalm 116:12-14. See also Psalm 107:22.
