Theme: BE YE DOERS OF THE WORD
Text: “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy…Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” – 2 Timothy 3:1-5.
Comment: This prophecy is fulfilling to the letter as we are now witnessing a level of godlessness unprecedented in human history. The devil, knowing that his time is short is doing everything in his power to lure people away from God into lawlessness and carnality. Some attend services merely to keep up with social expectations. Even some of those who claim to be men of God are actually pretenders and impostors. To help the people of good heart condition, God Almighty has instituted a programme of spiritual education for all peoples of the earth. (Matthew 24:14) People now have greater opportunity than ever before to know the word of God through various media of information such as books, newspapers, magazines, radio, television, the Internet, etc. Though surrounded by ungodliness, true Christians must continue to do the will of God. “That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world.” (Philippians 2:15) David the prophet declared: “Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.” – Psalm 119:9, 11
