Theme: The Essence of Self Comportment

Text: “Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his abundance is increased in the land.” – Job 1:9, 10.

Comment: In the text for today, Satan acknowledged his helplessness against God’s children since they are protected by the armies of the LORD. Even when he was allowed to put forth his hand against Job, an innocent man with outstanding integrity, Satan could not make Job curse God. (Job 1:1-22; 2:4-10) Spiritual comportment in the face of tribulations is very important for all worshippers of God as the devil’s intent is to make the children of God turn their backs on their Maker. “But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.” (Job 1:11) In the face of daunting persecutions, we should maintain our integrity and remain faithful to God as Job did and his later end was blessed more than his beginning. – Job 42:12-17; Romans 8:35-39.
