Theme: THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES AND YOU

Text: “Now about the midst of the feast Jesus went up into the temple, and taught.  And the Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned?” – John 7:14, 15.

Comment: Jesus Christ, the Founder of Christianity, the Saviour of the world and the “author and finisher of our faith” actively participated in the celebration of the Feast of Tabernacles as an example for us his disciples. “In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. by the grace of God.” (John 7:2-17, 37, 38) He charged his followers: “For I have given you an example that you should do as I have done to you.” (John 13:15) Admonishing fellow Christians, St. Peter stated that Jesus Christ has left us “an example, that ye should follow his steps.” (1 Peter 2:21) Therefore, it is nothing short of faithlessness for anyone who claim to be his disciple to refrain from following the example of our Lord by celebrating the Feast.
