Theme: THE BLESSING IN DOING WHAT WE HEAR
Text: “Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.” – Revelation 1:3.
Comment: We learn the word of God either by reading (studying the Holy Bible – 2 Timothy 2:15) or by hearing (listening to the word of God being preached – Luke 10:38-42). Whichever way or means through which one gains knowledge of the word of God, what is most important is the doing of it. The word of God borders on abstaining from sin, cultivating good Christian qualities, being steadfast unto the end and the blessings that will accrue to those who are faithful. (1 Thessalonians 5:22; 2 Peter 1:5-11) These require us to do the word in practical terms by actually exhibiting biblical charge and admonitions in our daily life so as to improve on the quality of our service to God and be in favour with Him in order to be blessed and saved in the end. – Ephesians 5:3-8.
