Theme: RECEIVING THE KINGDOM OF GOD AS A LITTLE CHILD

Text: “LORD, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me.” – Psalm 131:1.

Comment: David, the Sweet Psalmist of Israel, is one who can rightly be described as a man of experience, having been appointed and anointed king at a young age, lived a life of a fugitive for years, tasted fame, power and luxury as king, a war commander, musician and a prophet of God. Having attained these feats, it beats the imagination that a humble statement, as conveyed in today’s text would come from him! He knew that one could be in error and may not realize it, hence he asked, “Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults. Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.” – Psalm 19:12, 13. See also Psalm 131:2.
