Text: “Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired; Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the LORD come upon you, before the day of the LORD’S anger come upon you.” – Zephaniah 2:1-3.
Comment: The Bible is explicit on the fact that the destruction of this evil world is certain and impending. The Daily Devotional Guide for today is an exhortation for the people of God to continue to gather to worship the Almighty Father in spirit and in truth as the day of God’s anger upon the ungodly is fast approaching. (Matthew 18:20; John 2:24; Hebrews 10:25) Christ warns: “And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.” – Luke 21:34-36.
