Theme: DANIEL AND THE THREE FAITHFUL JEWS

Text: “They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down: they have digged a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves.”– Psalms 57:6.

Comment: Some people who do not have the fear of God take pride in hatching evil schemes and conspiracies against the innocent. Most times, this stems from rivalry at places of work and businesses. The desire to get ahead of those they see as competitors have led many to dabble into diabolic territories that are manifestly ungodly. In the story of Daniel, evil conspiracy, inordinate ambitions, pride and envy all manifested in the incidents that led to Daniel being cast into the Lion’s den. However, as we often see, the perpetrators of these evil plots do pay dearly for it. (Daniel 6:24) Indeed, he who digs a pit for an innocent soul will surely fall into it himself. (Job 4:8; Psalm 7:14-16) Worshippers of God should not, as individuals or as a conniving group, contemplate or plot any form of evil against innocent souls for any reason whatsoever.– Proverbs 26:27; 28:10.
