Text: “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. Let all things be done decently and in order.” – 1 Corinthians 14:33,40.
Comment: The leading text for today clearly highlights the fact that peace, decency and orderliness are the bedrock of God’s ways as opposed to confusion, disorderliness and indecency. As children of God, especially in the Church of God, we are expected to follow this attitude of God by ensuring that we do things in a peaceful, orderly and decent manner by His grace. The Bible warns against disorderliness. “Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us. For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;” (2 Thessalonians 3:6, 7) Accordingly, all our things ought to be done decently and in order as people of the saints of the Most High.
