Theme: The World to Come

Text: “And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever. And my people shall dwell in peaceable habitations, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places.” – Isaiah 32:17, 18.

Comment: One of the beauties of the “World to Come” is absolute peace and safety which God has promised by His grace. It is evident that this present evil world under the evil over-lordship of Satan the devil cannot attain peace. Because the religious and political leaders of the world are not sincere in their search for peace, and have rejected God and His word, they will continue to fail as “…they look not unto the Holy One of Israel!” – Isaiah 31:1; Psalm 60:11.

The text for today assures us of the fact that mankind will enjoy perfect peace in the Kingdom of God when it is fully established by God’s grace. (Psalm 29:11; Micah 4:3, 4). Let us therefore serve God “with reverence and godly fear” so as to be among those that will enjoy this absolute peace of God in the world to come by His grace and power. – Hebrews 12:28.
