Theme: God Does Not Forsake His People

Text: “Who hath ascended up into heaven, or descended? who hath gathered the wind in his fists? who hath bound the waters in a garment? who hath established all the ends of the earth? what is his name, and what is his son’s name, if thou canst tell?” – Proverbs 30:4.

Comment: “One of the greatest revelations in the scriptures is that of the mystery of God. Although there are many people who believe in His existence, few there are who know Him in truth. And it is the accurate knowledge of Him rather than a mere belief in His existence that is essential for salvation”. The sorry condition of spiritual darkness was highlighted by Paul the apostle in this wise, “for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.” (1 Corinthians 15:34) For one to genuinely claim to be a worshipper of God, such one must know Him in truth. St. Paul asked, “How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard?” (Romans 10:14; Hebrews 11:6) Indeed, for a soul to be without knowledge, it is not good. – Proverbs 19:2.

God Almighty is our Maker. (Psalm 100:3) He made His Son flesh so as to die and reconcile us back to Him. (John 1:14) He made the wind, (Amos 4:13) and He it is Who set boundaries for the waters that they may not over run the earth. (Proverbs 8:29) He made the earth. (Jeremiah 10:12, 51:15) His holy name is JEHOVAH, (Exodus 6:3; Isaiah 12:2) and His son’s name is JESUS CHRIST. – Matthew 16;16; Mark 1:1.
