Theme: Some Noble Christians of the Bible
Text: “When I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded that in thee also.” – 2 Timothy 1:5.
Comment: St. Paul spoke well of Lois as a faithful woman as in the text for today. When Paul commended Timothy of his spiritual edification, he was making reference to his upbringing and training by his grandmother and mother. This is a virtue all parents should emulate in bringing up their children and wards in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. (Ephesians 6:4) The knowledge she passed on to her daughter Eunice was also extended to Timothy her grandson. Christian mothers should emulate this great quality of Lois, a noble woman in the Lord. Deuteronomy 6:6,7; Psalm 78:4-6; Ephesians 6:1-3.
