Theme: THE FEAST OF TABERNACLES AND YOU
Text: “And the LORD said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify them to day and to morrow, and let them wash their clothes.” – Exodus 19:10.
Comment: Our outward cleanliness also matters to God. (Exodus 19:10, 11, 14) As Feast celebrants prepare to appear before the Lord, it is required that appropriate attention should be given to our bodies and environments. This is physical preparation. Celebrants are required to adhere to all instructions given to them so as to appear before the Lord pure. Our houses and environment should be kept clean so as not to grieve the Holy Spirit. St. Paul admonished Christians in his days: “…let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” (2 Corinthians 7:1) Furthermore, the Almighty God instructed the natural Jews to discipline themselves towards ensuring purity of the flesh. – Exodus 19:15, 17; Deuteronomy 23:13, 14; Joshua 3:5; 1 Samuel 21:3-6.
