Theme: THE SAVING AND HEALING POWER OF GOD ALMIGHTY

Text: “The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.” – Lamentations 3:24-26.

Comment: In this world of sin, many people have so many wants or needs that they want realized as soon as possible.  Without exception, everyone one on earth has one problem or the other.  It may be employment, promotion, improved economic condition, good health, a marital partner, children, peace in the home, spiritual problems, etc.  These are problems that can only be solved by God Himself.  While praying to Him to reverse their conditions for good, the people of God should exercise complete trust in Him and be patient, knowing that He has the best interests in mind and will answer their prayers in His own time, according to His will.  (Psalm 2:12) With this understanding therefore we should continue to have confidence and trust in Him and wait quietly for His deliverance DOING His will faithfully, zealously and steadfastly to the end for their blessing and salvation by His grace. Jesus Christ exhorted us thus: “In your patience possess ye your souls.” – Luke 21:19.

David, a King of Israel in his days declared: “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth”. (Psalm 121:1, 2) As people look up to see the top of the hill, so the people of God must look up to God in heaven for help in terms of provisions, protection, guidance and salvation. This calls for faith, knowledge and understanding.
