Text: “Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.” – Galatians 5:26.

Comment: Activities in the work of God should not be done with the mind of showcasing or displaying one’s talent/gift in a manner that would attract praise, accolades and encomiums from people to oneself. That is not a good heart condition to have in the work of God. Rather, it should be done with a heart of glorifying God Almighty through Jesus Christ. St Peter admonished:“As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.” – 1 Peter 4:10, 11. See also Colossians 3:23,24.
