Theme: THE BLESSING IN DOING WHAT WE HEAR

Text: “Gather the people together, men, and women, and children, and thy stranger that is within thy gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear the LORD your God, and observe to do all the words of this law.” – Deuteronomy 31:12.

Comment: We assemble from time to time to listen to the word of God by way of sermons preached to us. (Hebrews 10:25; Zephaniah 2:1-3) These sermons serve as mirrors to help us spotlight or identify those areas of our lives where we have not been living up to expectations to enable us work on ourselves to change for good and be blessed for so doing. “Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow… If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.” – Isaiah 1:16-20.
