Theme: IT PAYS TO SERVE GOD FAITHFULLY TILL THE END

Text: “Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.” – Hebrews 10:38, 39.

Comment:    This exhortation by Apostle Paul calls for all true worshippers of God Almighty to keep their faith inviolate and not to be carried away by the cares of this world.     Although this present world lies in gross wickedness, it is those whose strength is small, those who  love evil that will easily fall into the devil’s trap and be happy to remain there. It is true that iniquity will abound, wickedness will wax worse and worse, tumults and distresses will multiply. We have to look to God to overcome them.  This calls for patience, defined as “the ability to endure waiting, delay or provocation without becoming annoyed or upset, or to persevere calmly when faced with difficulties”.  There is no other option than to endure because anyone who wanders from the way and teachings of God and Jesus Christ as contained in the Holy Bible, will lose the grace of life. To this end Apostle Paul admonished: “Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end.” – Hebrews 3:12,14.
