Theme: The World to Come

Text: “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;” – Titus 2:11, 12.

Comment: In his letter to Titus, Apostle Paul stressed the importance of living soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world even as we look forward to “that blessed hope”. (Titus 2:13) So, whatever life throws our way, we should always comfort ourselves with the blessed hope of eternal life which Christ’s glorious appearance shall bring upon the faithful at the full establishment of God’s Kingdom on earth. But as spelled out by Titus in today’s reference text, there is a need to live a righteous and godly life to be inheritors of this kingdom by God’s grace. Apostle Peter stated: “Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.” – 2 Peter 3:14.
