Text: “The earth is the LORD’, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein”. – Psalm 24:1
Comment: True prosperity comes from God Almighty. It was to this end that David the Psalmist declared: “O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him”. (Psalm 34:8) David, a prophet and king of Israel, who tasted of God’s goodness in large measure stated, “Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments. His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed. Wealth and riches shall be in his house: and his righteousness endureth for ever”. (Psalm 112:1-3) In the diligent keeping of God’s commandments lies the secret of True Prosperity. God Almighty told Joshua His servant “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success”. (Joshua 1:8) The case of King Hezekiah deserves mention, as it is written: “And thus did Hezekiah throughout all Judah, and wrought that which was good and right and truth before the LORD his God. And in every work that he began in the service of the house of God, and in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered”- 2 Chronicles 31:20, 21.
