Theme: GODLINESS WITH CONTENTMENT IS GREAT GAIN

Text: “Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy”. – 1 Timothy 6:17.

Comment: The Bible charges all those who are blessed financially not to be carried away with their wealth.  We should remember that whatever we have comes from God and that it is not by our power. (Deuteronomy 8:17, 18; 1 Corinthians 4:7) All such wealth should be used to support God’s work for more blessings by His grace.  Those who have been blessed one way or the other should also endeavour to assist the needy, the aged, charity organisations, etc.  In verses 18 and 19 of the text under reference, Apostle Paul charged such ones to be good, and ready to distribute their wealth by being charitable. By so doing, they are laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.  In other words, such ones will be blessed manifoldly in this world and in the world to come everlasting life. – Luke 18:30.
