Theme: THE DANGER OF HYPOCRISY

Text: “But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.” –  James 3:17.

Comment: James, the apostle of Christ was eulogizing the engrafted word of God that comes from above, that it is untainted with falsehood and it instructs us to live in peace and be gentle; not striving for vain glory. It is straight-forward and easy to be consulted for its spiritual insights. It is not hinged on favouritism and duplicity. The Psalmist describes it, thus: “The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether… Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.” – Psalm 19:7-11.
