Theme: ANXIETY

Text: “Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.” – Revelation 12:12

Comment: Bible understanding shows that the present world crises are at the behest of satan the devil, who is using the ruling factors to carry out his scheme of causing maximum distress, worries and anxieties in the world and thereby cause the death of as many people as possible. It is because the devil and his agents have been cast down from heaven, that he is hyperactive in this age, using wicked men to brazenly commit iniquity with impunity.  St Paul describes the age as “perilous”. In other words, greed, selfishness, arrogance, hypocrisy, carnality – in short, godlessness – will be the order of the day. (2 Timothy 3:1-5). We are seeing these fulfil to the letter. In Luke 17:26-29, Christ said people will be as indifferent to spiritual matters as they were in time of Noah and Lot until sudden destruction met them.

King David, the sweet psalmist of Israel, exhorts us to trust in God and not be worried or anxious about the state of things in the world today.  He said; “He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust …” – Psalm 91:1-9
