Theme: PRAY AND WAIT ON THE LORD

Text: “Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.” – James 5:7.

Comment: The farmer has no control over the sun, the rain, and how fast the crop will grow. Hoping on the provisions of God, he must wait for the fruit of his labours. So we are, with God. We should therefore pray and patiently wait on God to give us our hearts’ desires. The Psalmist declared: “Give ear to my words, O LORD, consider my meditation. Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray. My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.” (Psalm 5:1-3)He added: “Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation. He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved”. – Psalm 62:1,2.
