Theme: MEEKNESS IN GOD’S SERVICE

Text: “Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.” – James 3:13.

Comment: Those who desire the knowledge of the Almighty should humble themselves in prayer to Him so that they would understand, retain and be able to explain to others what they learn from the Scriptures. In James 1:5 we are told: “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” How we relate with others by way of our actions and speeches  show how we acknowledge that what we have is a gift from God.

Also, we are expected to teach others about God by our actions and words with every sense of humility. “Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.” (James 3:13) But contrary to the word of God, some preach the Bible with a stifling air of superiority over others, with some even going to the extent of making mockery of the ignorance of those who ask them questions. (See 1 Peter 3:15) Let us pray for humility of mind to understand the Scriptures and to be able not only to apply it in our lives but also to impart it to others. “In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth.” – 2 Timothy 2:25.
