Theme: GOOD HEART CONDITION IN GOD'S SERVICE

Text:“Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.” – Psalm 51:10.

Comment: This sober reflective prayer of King David is to the intent that one truly needs the help of God in removing evil thoughts from one’s heart. By simply allowing an evil thought to remain and thrive in our hearts, we are guilty before God. In this regard, King David went further to pray, “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.” (Psalm 139:23,24). Again, he prayed for God’s help so that the words of his mouth which are a reflection of the thoughts of his heart be such that would be acceptable to God: “Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults. Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.” – Psalm 19:12,14.
