Theme: THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE PASSOVER

Text: “For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.” – Hebrews 13:14.

Comment: As the Israelites observed the Passover as a memorial of their departure from Egyptian bondage to the land of promise, so Christians, having been freed by Christ from Satan’s enclave, are on course to the land full of grace where the faithful shall live in robes of righteousness, God’s Kingdom fully set up. Those who love life and desire to make it successfully unto the end, should not be entangled with the sinful pleasures of this world but see themselves as sojourners, pilgrims, and strangers therein. (1John 2:15-17; James 4:4) As St. Peter counselled, we should “pass the time of your sojourning here in fear…” – 1Peter 1:17-19; 2:11.
